US signs for rotator cuff tears
Full-Thickness and Partial- Thickness Supraspinatus Tendon Tears: Value of US Signs in Diagnosis by Jon A. Jacobson, et al Radiology 2004; 230:234–242
Click on the link
It has tried to enumerate the primary and secondary signs important in the diagnosis of supraspinatus tendon tears.
The primary signs include tendon nonvisualization, abnormal hypoechoic or anechoic areas within the tendon with ill-defined margins.
Greater tuberosity cortical irregularity and cartilage interface sign as the most important, secondary US signs valuable in the diagnosis of supraspinatus tendon tear.
